Who Jesus Christ Is!

The Bible does not claim who Jesus Christ is.

The Bible declares who he is!

And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. Mat 16:16

The law paved the way for the coming of the Just One. Acts 7:52

·       Rom 7:14 Carnal man could not keep the spiritual law

·       Gal 4:4 Born of a woman not a man still had to keep the law

·       Rom 10:1-5 Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. Once you believe you are no longer obligated to seek righteousness through the law. Why?

·        2Cor 5:21

 

Amos 5:21-23 Israel had polluted the sacrificial system, they had polluted the feasts the LORD, they had polluted the song and music they sang in worship and He despised (had no respect for what they offered to Him. Malachi 1:6-14

·       Heb 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: (Luke 1:35)

·       1John 2:1-2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Ř    The only satisfactory o0ffering for the sins of the world

Ř    Hebrews 7:27 declares Jesus Christ was the better sacrifice. Heb 13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

Heb 1:1-2 The better than the prophets of God’s

Heb 4:14-15, 9:7 The better High Priest

 

Isa 45:11; 54:5 The Maker and Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel;

 

The New Testament begins with “The book of the generation of Jesus Christ” (Mt 1:1) The new Testament ends with “.  .  Even so come Lord Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen”. (Re 22:20b-21)

·       Revelation 1 reveals Him as: the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, he prince of the kings of the earth, Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, the first and the last, he that liveth, and was dead and alive for evermore, and the one who has the keys of hell and of death.

 

 

 

The Gospel According To John

 

John Chapter 1: What John declared:

V1-2 When God created the Heaven and the earth (Gen 1:1) The Word was. At that time the Word was God

·       1John 5:7 Second person mentioned of the Holy Trinity

·       V3 He, the Word, created all things Jer 32:1, 27

V4-5 The life that was in the Word (in the beginning) was the light that would enlighten men concerning God but men chose darkness rather than knowledge of God

·       John 1:9-11 with Rom 1:19-21 From the beginning not knowing God is a choice made by man even the Jews

V12-13 It was God’s will that whosoever received the Word was given the life that was in the Word from the beginning and are called Sons of God. (receive is a new testament term)

V14 Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us as the only begotten of the Father.

·       Luke 1:35 with Heb 10:5 That holy thing, the body that was prepared for the Word when the Word came into the world to take away the sins of the world, is the Son of God.

 

John Chapter 1: What John the Baptist declared

V15, 30 John the Baptist declared the Word was the “him” that he was to bare witness of.

·       John 1:29, 17 Declared that Jesus, lamb of God was the Word that would take away the sins of the world

·       Compare V30 with V27 John (Jesus was before John)

V34 John declared that Jesus Christ is the Son of God!

V37-42 Andrew heard John the Baptist speak and knew John declared Jesus to the Messiah

 

The first 42 verses of John Chapter 1 declare that Jesus Christ is the Word that was with God at the beginning and was God at the beginning and is the Son of God, the Christ which is interpreted Messiah.
