What Salvation Is.

Salvation is not a magic key to the door of wealth, health, and a trouble free life. Salvation does not a guarantee to a life free from pain and sorrows.

·       2Tim 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

John 1:12-13 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

*Salvation is being born into a new family, with a new father.

*Salvation is the saving of the soul

Eze 18:27 Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.

James 5:20, 1Pet 1:9 The salvation of our souls in the end of believing in Jesus Chris by faith.

1Thes 5:9, 2Ti 2:10

*Our salvation is part of God’s eternal purpose purposed in Christ

Eph 1:6- 3:6, 9, 10-12a gathering together in one all things in Christ according to His good pleasure

·       Jude 24 to give God pleasure and joy

·       Through the gospel going to the Gentiles both Jews and Gentiles who first trust in Christ (Eph 1:12b) are gathered together into one body to the “praise of His glory”.

·       Eph 1:12b is the key that unlocks the New testament promises

·       This is accomplished through the gospel.

*Our Salvation is the fulfillment of God’s purpose and promise of eternal life that is in His Son.

2Ti 1:1,8-10; Tit 1:2, 3:7; 1John 2:25

Before the world began God had a purpose in sending His Son into the world

·       To unite Jews and Gentiles into one body, the church to receive praise and glory through the body of Christ.

Before the world began God made a promise that all who would by faith believe the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ would be saved and receive eternal life in Christ

·       1John 5:10-12 (11) And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son

·       Remember Eph 1:12b

*Our salvation is the accounting or imputation of God’s righteousness to us.

·       Rom 4:20-22, 23-25

·       It is even more than that 2Cor 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. Remember Eph 1:12b

*Our salvation is being indwelled and quickened by the Holy Spirit

·       John 14:17; Col 2:13; 1Peter 3:18; Eph 1:12-13

·       God’s proof to us that we have received the promise of eternal life in Christ is the sealing of the holy spirit of promise.

Ø                                                                                                           We are not only promised the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, but receiving the promises is guaranteed by his indwelling all that are in Christ.

*Our salvation is being seated in heavenly places in Christ

·       Eph 2:6; Col 1:2; 28

*Our salvation is a gift of God Rom 6:23, Eph 2:8-9

·       The gift of eternal life comes through the gift of salvation

·       It is not something we earn by what we do, or who we are.

Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Rom 5:11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

·       Salvation comes when the redemption and atonement made by Christ is applied to us by God’s grace through our faith.

·       Remember Eph 1:12b

Salvation is being justified before God, indwelled by the Holy Spirit, quickened by the Holy Spirit and placed in Christ.

This is one instantaneous action. Not something that happens over a period of time

·       Remember Eph 1:12b you must first trust in Christ.

1Pe 5:10 ¶ But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
