The Last Day of The Last Days

 The “last days” in the Old Testament: Gen 49:1;[Isa 2:2; Mic 4:1] speaking about “the last days” for Israel. They will begin after the rapture of the Church.

Hebrews 1:1-2 “These last days” that the church is in. They began when the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ began.

·       Luke 2:49 [Heb 2:1-3]

Acts 2:1-3, 17 The pouring out of the His Spirit took place in “the last days”,

2Tim 3:1 in the last days perilous times shall come.

2Pet 3:3 in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

James 5:3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

·       Mat 6:19-:20 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

·       1Cor 3:11-15

·       In these last days we are to be focused on eternal things above much more on than temporal earthly things.

We are in the last days of the church.

The Last Day of The Last Days: John 2:19-21; 6:39-44; 11:24;

·       In John 2:19-21 Jesus declare his body would be raised from the dead three days after it would die

·       In John 6:39-44 Jesus declared he would raise His body, the church, up again on “the last day’

Because Jesus used “it” in John 2 and John 6 we have the assurance that we will be raised on the “last day” of the last days!! Rom 6:5

1Cor 15:51-52; 1Thes 4:15-17

Rom 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

In 1Cor 15 we have the gospel defined and the promise that those who have died in Christ will be raised from the dead and those alive in Christ will be changed. All in Christ have already been judged according to the gospel and are promised to be like Jesus.

·       Ro 8:29 ¶ For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

·       1John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

What about those “left behind”?

Rom 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

·       John 12:47-48 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same (the words of Jesus) shall judge him in the last day.

·       Acts 17:30-31 God ordained Jesus Christ to judge the world in righteousness according to His resurrection (2Cor 5:21)

Ø    Those who will be left behind are those who are not made the righteousness of God in Christ and will be judged according to His righteousness. 

·       Heb 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? [Mat 12:31]

·       Rom 1:29, 1Tim 1:1-11, 2Thes 2:7

The last day when the body of Christ (the church)is raised again those left behind are going to be judged by the gospel as having trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant an unholy thing despising the witness of the Holy Ghost.
