The Eternal Purpose In Christ Part 1

The dispensation of God’s gospel of grace to the Gentiles, through Paul.

Eph 3:10 The principalities and powers in heavenly places learn the manifold wisdom of God through the church. (1Cor 6:3)

·       V9 Paul’s preaching the fellowship of the mystery of among the gentiles unsearchable riches of Christ is one part of God’s manifold wisdom.

V11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:

John 6:37-38 (38) For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. [Matthew 26:19]

·       V39-40 The will of the Father who sent Christ: That every one who believeth on the Son will have everlasting life and will be kept by Jesus and will be raise “it” up in the last days. (The “it” in V39 is made up of the “hims” in V40)

·       1Tim 2:4 Who (God our Saviour) will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

1Peter 1:21 The redemption through the blood of Jesus Christ was foreordained before the foundation of the world,

*****That which is purposed in Christ is both eternal past and eternal future

2Ti 1:9 Who (God our Saviour) hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began

Heb 3:1-6 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus

1Cor 1:2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours: (Consider the “it” in John 6:39)

·       Sanctified: Being consecrated and set apart by God to His holy service.

·       Rom 14:7-8, 1Cor 3:16, 23

Eph 1:11-12 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: (12) That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ

·       Eph 1:3-4 before the foundation of the world

·       Tit 1:2 promised before the world began;

2Cor 5:18-19 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; (19) To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and  hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

·       The world is the people

·       The word of reconciliation is the gospel of course; but much more: discipleship

·       Acts 5:18-20 speak all the words of this life.

·       The ministry of reconciliation is the speaking of all the words of this life.

·       Eph 3:21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

·       This is our holy calling, this is purpose for which we have been sanctified in Christ.

The eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:

·       The reconciliation of the world (the people) by God to Himself through Jesus Christ.

·       Rom 14:9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.

·       Leading up to the time when (Isa 45;22-24; Php 2:9-11) And that every knee should bow and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
