The Gospel Rejected

Rom 2:7-8 8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, 9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;

The truth that must be obeyed: the truth of the Gospel

*****Obey does not always mead to follow orders. It is used to mean agree, assure, believe, trust, yield, submit too

Col 1:5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;

·       The truth of the gospel: 1Cor 15:1-4 That Christ died for our sins, was buried and that He rose again the third day according to the scripture.

·       Gal 2:5,14;  Eph 1:13 Truth of the word of the gospel

·       Mark 1:15  .  .  .  repent ye, and believe the gospel.

·       Acts 15:7 .  .  . Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

2Cor 4:4 Those which do not obey the truth of the gospel have been blinded by he god of this world

·       When someone hears the truth of the gospel a battle begins in their mind and heart between the Holy Ghost and the god of this world, so a choice must be made.

**When the truth of the gospel is not obeyed

2Thes 1:5-10:8-9 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

·       Eph 5:3-6 .  .  for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. [Col 3:5-6]

John 3:36 .  .  .  he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. [1John 5;10]

Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Heb 10:28-29 Those who do not obey the truth of the gospel are facing a much sorer punishment than those who died without mercy under the law because they have trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? [disrespected the witness of the Holy Spirit]

·       These verses show that there levels of punishment in hell.

Rom 1:16-19  18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

·       Rom 1:23-25, 26

·       Heb 10:28 Those who die without hearing a presentation of the gospel will still die without mercy because they rejected the knowledge of God place within them. But their punishment will not be as severe as those who do not believe when they hear the gospel.
